How To Get Google Adsense Approval for Websites and Blogs in 2018

If you have a website with high quality content and good number of visitors daily then there are hundreds of ways using which you can make money online through your website or blog. You can try signing up for any good PPC, PPD, CPA network, affiliate marketing, make money with referrals, promote other websites or start selling your own products/service using your website but all these methods are way to complex to use.

If you are new to blogging then I will recommend you to start with Pay-Per-Click (PPC) networks but go nowhere else, approve your website for Google Adsense PPC program. There are a lot of reasons to choose Google Adsense among all PPC networks, even among every money-making concept you want to try to make money online with your blog. Some important reasons are: high competition so high CPC on served ads, secure, more flexibility, decade of service & reputation, secure payment and reporting system and brand name “Google“.

Google Adsense Thumb

Adsense is currently the top PPC program online and it is so big that it pays roughly 10 times higher than even the second largest PPC network that exist right now. So, if you are not using Google Adsense to make money through PPC program on your website then you are just wasting its money-making potential.

Due to very high popularity of Google Adsense I don’t consider all of you to be unknown of Google Adsense or its benefits even if you’re not using Adsense. One big reason to not use Adsense is disapproval of Google Adsense. After approving Google Adsense you can start earning money from your website but Adsense approval is not easy. They use very strict criteria to check every submitted website against Google Adsense TOS & guidelines and they keep changing their procedure too. So, if someone has told you some easy way to get Google Adsense approved last year, consider it exhausted now.

Especially in Q4 2017 & 2018 Adsense team has done lots of modifications in its review process and made it even stricter. You might have noticed it by yourself too as they now take more time for even doing the their first review (out of two) and they don’t allow you to generate adcode directly after first review. They provides a header code instead.

These are the changes you have noticed externally. Internally, they have done a lot of modifications in Google Adsense approval process which I noticed only because having multiple websites, I frequently apply for Adsense as I need to use multiple Adsense accounts for different websites.

And, after few continuous rejections now I have found the fix to approve Google Adsense again in 2018. So, here I am telling you the verified way to get Google Adsense approval for your websites/blogs in 2018. Read it below.

Prerequisites for Google Adsense Approval

In this section, I am telling you equirements and recommendations for Google Adsense PPC Program. I will also tell requirements which you can safely ignore if those are tough for you to achieve right now.

  • Buy a new Top-Level Domain Name. It is recommended to register a gTLD like .COM, .ORG, .NET, etc. Approval is hard in ccTLD and free domain names provided by Freenom or other domain registrars.
  • Don’t buy domain privacy protection and let the domain’s WHOIS record show your details. You will be using same details while applying for Google Adsense.
  • Buy good hosting which will provide you a good uptime of ~99%. If you want to cut off your hosting cost, you can use Blogger.com (Google owned) to create your website in Blogger platform it will provide you hosting free but don’t try free hosting websites.
  • Your age should be at least 18 to be eligible to applying for Google Adsense and it’s policy says your blog/website should be at least 6 months old but you can ignore this requirement as I have approved Google Adsense on many blogs within a month of their registration.

Creating Website for Google Adsense Approval

Creating website/blog that will not only follow Adsense policies but also should be impressive enough to make Adsense team approve Google Adsense on your website, it is a tough task.

Arrange your priorities for website development in this order:

  1. Top-Notch Content
  2. Layout (good navigation and clean design)
  3. Authority pages (About, Contact, Privacy, etc.)
  4. Website Traffic

Content – high quality & original

As understood from the above priority order, Content is our most important asset. Do no cheating here. You can use other’s copyright-free images but using tricks for getting content, even a fraction of it can lead your site to Google Adsense rejection. So, don’t try to scrap article from article directories, spun copied article to create unique-looking article or any other grey hat trick. They aren’t going to work.

Either higher someone to write unique articles for you or write articles yourself in one single niche that your site is following. Consider publishing at least 15 articles, each of 500+ words before applying for Adsense. Maintain a gap or 10-15 days between every post. You can either backdate or schedule your articles to maintain the gap or publish all of them instantly and then edit their dates manually to maintain the gap.

Website Theme & Layout

You need to make your website appear populated with content (even its homepage). So, choose a theme which is simple and have the layout to show off good amount of textual content. The layout should showcase good amount of post-excerpt in home and authority pages but not full post in these pages.

It should have standard navigation menu on the top which is filled with those menu items which aren’t empty. So, you can put your authority pages links here and only those categories for which you have published posts.

Populate your websites sidebar and try to use those widgets which output textual content. For example, Popular post, random post widgets, comments, etc.

Authority Pages

Having authority pages, especially the “Privacy Policy” page which mentions the use of Google Adsense and its DART cookies for serving ads is essential. You can use any free Google Adsense Privacy Policy Generator to generate perfect privacy policy page for your website which complies with Google Adsense policies.

Create a good About Us page with at least 300 words content on telling about your website, its features and use. Add a Contact page with few lines of header message and a contact form.

Website Traffic

In 2016, getting regular visitors to your website was not important to get Adsense approval but in the year 2018, it is important. Google has even mentioned it in its updated policies. If your website isn’t receiving regular visitors then you can receive the first review message from Adsense team but then the second review message will either not come or come with rejection.

Even for one of my Adsense accounts, I received the second (which is final) review message from Adsense team in GMail that my website is approved for Google Adsense but when I tried to login its Adsense, the account was always showing ‘account under review’ message until two weeks when some regular visitors finally started coming to my website.

And, don’t try to send fake traffic to your website. It can be permanently rejected from Google Adsense PPC Program.

Applying for Google Adsense

Once you have done all these things, don’t just hurry up and sign up for Adsense. Firstly, cross-check your websites against requirements and recommendations of Adsense. Once you have done this, install a sitemap plugin in your website (for WordPress website either use Google XML Sitemaps or Yoast SEO sitemap feature). Now, follow below steps –

  • Create a fresh GMail account. Make sure to add your original date of birth which should be greater than 18.
  • Use this Gmail to sign in Google Webmasters Tool. Add and verify your website at Webmasters Tool.
  • Add sitemap inside Webmasters Tool’s website property.
  • Add Google Analytics code to your website to keep track of visitors coming to your website.
  • Now, proceed to sign up for Adsense here. Add site URL and required details.

Wait for the first review email to arrive (it can take from few hours to days) at your new Gmail from which you have signed up for Google Adsense. Once you get first approval, login to you Adsense account, copy the header code provided to you and paste it below your </head> tag in header.php.

Now, after you’ve pasted the provided Adsense header code, wait for the second review email to arrive from Google Adsense team which can take more than a week. In the meantime, you are free to add new content to your website just don’t change the theme/layout.

Finally, when the second Adsense review email arrives, you will receive email like this (congratulating and welcoming you to Google Adsense PPC Program) from Adsense team.

If you will follow above methods and recommendations properly, you will be most likely able to approve Google Adsense on your website because with this same procedure I’ve had 80% success rate while approving Google Adsense. Even if they still rejected your website, change the theme, add more content and re-apply. You can apply unlimited times with same Gmail. So whenever you think your site is ready, give it a shot by submitting for Google Adsense.
